The Ultimate Anti-Ageing Chocolate Smoothie

Anti-ageing compounds in raw cacao:

  • Polyphenols

    Cacao is bitter due to the high presence of potent anti-oxidant polyphenols such as flavanols like catechin. Polyphenols have shown to be effective against UV ageing. Catechins have been proven to increase blood flow to the skin which creates healthier skin due to the increase in nutrients and oxygen.

  • Theobromine

    Another anti-oxidant which scavenges Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) – the bad guys that age skin. Theobromine has been proven to prevent UV-induced skin-wrinkles.

  • Minerals

This delicious smoothie is fuel for the body and an inner facial for the skin. Rich in minerals, clean energy, omega 3 fatty acids and anti-ageing polyphenols – for a rejuvenating decadent breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe organic bananas (chopped)
  • 1 frozen organic banana (chopped)
  • 2 tsp ground flaxseed
  • 1-2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons raw carob powder
  • A pinch of sea salt or pink Himalayan salt
  • A pinch of vanilla powder (or a dash of essence)
  • 200-300ml of organic almond milk
